The Springfield, Missouri community is mourning the tragic loss of 22-year-old Benjamin Boutwell, who died early Monday morning, March 30, 2026, following a violent incident.
According to authorities, officers with the Springfield Police Department responded around 3:52 a.m. to a location on South Ingram Mill Road, where they found Boutwell suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment but was later pronounced dead.
Another individual, 21-year-old Julian Davis, was also found at the scene with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital and is currently reported to be in critical but stable condition. A third person, who is believed to be acquainted with both men, sustained minor injuries.
Officials have confirmed that all individuals involved knew one another and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
