The Kosciusko community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 16-year-old Nina Dillon, who died following a violent incident on Monday, March 30, 2026.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Lucas Street, where Dillon was involved in a physical altercation with another teenager. During the confrontation, she was fatally stabbed. Emergency responders transported her to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala in an effort to save her life, but she was later pronounced dead.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that a 15-year-old suspect, Ta’khia Fletcher, was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged in connection with the incident. She is currently being held without bond at the Leake County Correctional Facility. Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive, and the case remains under active investigation.
